I have a late 70s Johnson 70, 3 clyinder engine. What is proper way to set the timing? The engine will be used on a 24' pontoon boat. With a 13 pitch prop it does not seem to rev like it should. I will be installing tach and have an 11 pitch prop to try this weekend. I want to ensure the timing is set correctly before proceeding. What is the max RPM this engine should run?
