The specs call for a 1/4 inch dimension between the bottom of the float and the base of the carb, with the carb upside down. Where on the float do you reference the 1/4 inch dimension (outer edge, center of float,?)
It then calls for a measurement of 1/32 to 1/16 from the bottom of float to the main fuel jet.(Carb right side up)
I assume this time it's from the center of the float, but where is the reference on the main jet. (center of orifice, top edge of jet body,?)
Also, in my rebuild kit there were 2 different inlet needle seats. One with a fixed end and one with a spring on it. The original seat had a fixed end. Which one should I replace it with?

Hi soxfan, according to my clymer manual and the diagram therein a T gauge is used and is touching the centre of the bottom of the float to obtain the 1/4" measurement.

As for measuring the drop, the diagram shows measuring from the centre of the bottom of the float to the top edge of the jet.

Don't know about the needle and seat.

Fred M
