20160714_205207.jpg Hi, so I have that engine, code: 502APHUE

Was trying to setup the timing, on the label is says 10 degree but I can't see any degree on the fly wheel, just two paint marks and one faint mark that looks like some one made with a nail.
You guy got any idea? I got a picture of the wheel as well as the video of it running.
Thanks for any suggestions.

There are supposed to be degree marks on the harmonic balancer.

If you can figure what mark is TDC, you could always use an advance timing light.

Do you mean to say that some fancy timing lights have the timing advance calculated on the light itself?
Mine is just simple, basic light. I don't have any degrees marked as I recall having on my car.

You turn a dial on the back of the timing light until tdc on the harmonic balancer aligns with the pointer. For example, if you want to set timing at 10?, you set the dial at 10? and rotate the distributor until the TDC mark lines up with the pointer.

It's the only type timing light I would ever own.

Its also very useful for reading what total advance is since most balancers only have enough marks to read small amounts of degrees.

Thanks for the info.
I'm new to the "old school" tech here :)
Only got a basic timing light that flashes. Will look into getting a fancier unit.
