This is a question that has floated here some. What type of sewing machine will I need if I sew my own upholstery? Most home machines will do vinyl seats. If however a person wants to do boat covers and large seats IE lounge seats or couch type seating Industrial is the way to go. I would recommend a servo type motor over a clutch any day. A person can run them slower and more accurately than a clutch style. Next can you get parts for it? Most of this will be yes but watch machines such as Mitsubishi the parts dont fall out if trees like Singers do. Add anything usefull or ask questions I will answer what I can.
