Have a 2000 Sport Craft Inboard 252. I just finished a carb rebuild and noticed the forward left engine mount was loose so I tightened it up and thought I'd check the others. Back left was tight, front right was not as loose as left but loose, back right was very loose so I tightened them all. Then it occurred to me that there may have been a reason for this...alignment for the trans shaft. Is this the case and if so how do I re-align the engine properly. Thanks, JEC

Re: Shaft Alignment???

Pull the outdrive and check with alignment tool.If not your coupler or u-joints will fail, along with the gimble bearing.
This needs to be in the I/O repair section..

With 2 mounts loose, you will probably have lots of vibration, and a lot of extra wear on cutlass bearings. They must all be tight after alignment.

Go to page 27 of the link below for how to align it and how close it has to be.
