A buddy did a transom replacement and made it to thick, i installed gimbal housing, inner plate and motor, intalled drive and it is in the the coupler just about a 1.5 inches. its a mc 1 and has the longer input shaft on the drive. thanks
it is possible that you will get a vibration.....if the vibration is too much.....
you have 3 options.....
get a longer drive shaft.
add washers to the space between the coupler and flywheel....(not recommended)
use a router to remove some of the transom around the key hole.
flatness and parallelism is what must be taken into account if you go the router route....it is really tough to get it right. then re glass the routed out area.
