shaking motor

1982 johnson 35 hp,just started to twitch every 2 seconds above 7mph.Seems like motor mount broken.

Try to squeese primer bulb when it does so - does it affect the run ?

This is just a guess<br /><br />Shift dogs. I think that's what they were calling the parts that will wear in the lower unit allowing it to momentarily pop out of gear for just a very short moment while underway.<br /><br />Perhaps a double check to make sure you are going all the way into gear, or check lower unit oil might help.

Try turning low speed idel a little richer and see if that helps. The other thing could be is foward clutch dog is worn allowing motor to slip out of gear for a second. Keep checking back.
