I have a '78 - 35hp and it runs great. Only problem is that it shakes quite a bit...especially when it idles or runs at low speed.

I understand that it's an older motor and I shouldn't expect perfection out of it, but I would like to know what I can do to reduce the shakyness.

Thanks!

Re: Shaky-head

It probably needs a carb rebuild.
If carbs are already done then check to see if it still sparks when engine is hot, sometimes coils start to fail as the engine heats up.
A timing light is a quick way to check.
Sounds like it is running minus one cylinder when throttled back.
