I may have thrown in the towel early.

I removed the head to find some scoring but not very heavy, the motor still turns.

Can this be honed and new rings installed?

Are new pistons a must. Can new rings be found and used? Im not looking for a major rebuild (cost) just to get it back on the water for a few seasons.

Beach,
You wont know if you can salvage the pistons until you have them out of the block and in your hand. If you have very minor scoring on the pistons you might be able to get away with re-ringing it. Bret

If you need further assistance please email me @ forcepower01@yahoo.com.

I did some checking. Pistons and Rings are still available for your engine.

TMD
