I was pleasantly suprised when I took my boat out fully loaded with at least 900 lbs of people and gear. Sure it took longer than with just myself, it planes almost instantly then, but it planes after about 4 to 5 seconds, can hear the motor pushing hard before the plane. After on plane top speed is only a couple mph lower. With myself only she will do 35. All this with only a 60 hp. This boat would be FAST with a 90, max rating. But its an '88 so probably not going to invest in bigger motor for this boat, but who knows.

Lol you sound like me, bigger is always better. Boat does everything need it to do, even pleasantly surprised you, but you are already imagining what another 30HP would get you.

Us American's just wouldn't survive with $4/gal gas we gotta have our power. I bet you'll have 90HP within a yr.

WHAT??!!! You have one of the newest Starcrafts on this forum!!!! I'm not surprised it did well with the 60. Aluminum hulls are light and get away with less power.

Sure I think about a bigger motor, faster woo hoo!! But, as the boat performed so well, I'm very happy with it. The boat is in good condition so maybe I'll have it for a couple or three years before thinking aboout an upgrade. Unless I find a SUPER deal on a bigger better motor.:D
