Well we ran the boat yesterday after I had to replace the stator and trigger due to wire degradation and the switchbox because it seemed one of those components blew it enough to cause #3 to not fire. I changed the impeller on Sat and on Sunday we took her out. Holy cow it was awesome. My trim is still fried due to a really bad trim motor so I just locked it in position. The bow went up pretty high when I gas it throttle but it planed off almost immediately. I was shocked. We have an '87 Bomber Promaster II bass boat with an '86 Merc75 that I fixed all by myself. Without this forum I would not have been so confident to do it myself. Thanks to all. And now I am well versed in the electronic side of the ignition system!

If the starter motor is working, then light lube of some type (breakfree/WD40/3 in 1) on the shaft around the spring, probably just sticking or jummed up.

Hey Ninja, What pitch prop are you running? I have the same motor, and I'm trying to see if I need to change props. I got a tach installed to check the RPM's, but I haven't had a chance to get it in the water yet. Hopefully this weekend.
