Hello.

I have sheared the flywheel key on my 1966 33HP Johnson and it is now flush smooth with the shaft. Any advise on how to best remove the part that is now one with the shaft? I did not just want to start whacking with a hammer and screwdriver to avoid causing further issues.

Thank you.

I use an 1/8" flat nose punch. Put punch on one end of the key and tap it with a hammer and it will rock out of the key notch.
