Hello, I have a few quarts of 2-cycle oil that are going on two years old unopened and stored in my gararge. Temp in winter stay above frezzing. Does this oil break down from prolonged storage ? Are there any concerns useing oil that is 2,3,4 or 5 years old ? Just wondered. -Thanks

If is is unopened I wouldn't have a problem using it, maybe shake it up but it should be fine.

If it had been opened maybe not but you should be fine.

The oil itself does not have a shelf life, but in many cases the container does.
If the bottle has lost shape and looks like it is been affected by anorexia, throw it away.
Oil stored in a metal drum or glass bottle (sealed) is no problem.
However watch out for water contamination. That normally shows up as gel at the bottom.
Do NOT shake it up, but filter it out.
