Hi experts,
I have a 1998 Johnson 150 Ficht, running well no probs but occassionally getting a code 28 shift assist alarm. The shift works fine and you can feel the revs drop as you shift through forward/neutral/reverse as they should. I have replaced the shift switch, $100 thank you, and checked the shift mechanism. 1)As we are just coming out of winter do you think the cold would set this off? It seems that the colder the water the more it sounded, I'm talking Aussie cold here water temp 40F not your below zero stuff. 2) it occurred to me that I did not have this problem before sending the ECU to DFI Tech for another false alarm, a water in fuel code 37 which they fixed and upgraded to latest firmware and that problem never seen since- am I being too analytical here?
cheers
David
