I have a 1989 17' sea ray with a 3.0 mercruiser with Alpha 1 lower end , just today I noticed after cruisin' around I went to put the boat into neutral and it wouldn't quite hit neutral, so I just pulled the shifter back towards reverse until I heard the motor and felt boat go into neutral....reverse is fine and forward is fine, I think I just have a little cable adjustment problem. Anybody out there have experience with this?? Thanks for your time....

At the top of this section look in DonS adults only section. Then go to Mercruiser, then find Chris's videos for adjustment. Sound like you shift interrupter needs adjustment or replacement. The interrupter is used to get the drive out of gear and it's hanging. It either has stopped working or needs adjustment. look at the videos and it should clear it up for you
