New to this forum and to boating. Bought a 1987 21ft. Cobalt with a 5.7 omc cobra. Replaced the shift cable and tuned up the motor, after putting the boat in the water it seemed to be leaking from the rubber hose the shift cable slides through, right at the transom. Anybody have any tips on how to remove this hose without removing the engine? Pulled off the exhaust manifold and risers, gaskets need replaced, but thought this would allow easier access to the hose.
