Have to replace my shift cable on my GW gulfstream its been in there for many years , I have the famous 460 king cobra ,it been a great setup but at some point I will re power with a 7.4 . anyway I have a few questions
1 Had to cut cable at transom could not pull out and cable was split, and frozen, hard to turn nut on the back of the to remove it. Witch way does the cable come out pulling from the outside of boat \? Not moving easily either way I don?t want to break something , looks like it comes out from the back of the boat the hose inside of the boat is straight up should it be moved to get it out .
2 Does any one know the proper part # the book says# 0983950 the new # is 0987662 it?s a kit with a shift arm this boat has been updated long ago ,lookin at the different cables the king cobra cable has a threads facing outwards bell crank looks good, bellows were done a few years back .
