Shift cable leaking water onto valve cover

Finally got the boat running.
I have had it running for less that 1/2 hr on the muffs with no prop AND stern drive not engaged.

But, water is leaking from the shift cable onto the STBD valve cover. The leak appears to be coming from cable where it attaches to the shift linkage assy.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

The O-ring for the water in let was indeed dislodged. It was laying in the bottom of the stern drive housing.

Put the O-ring back in place, again, with Perfect Seal. Let the sealer set up a bit and installed the drive.

No leaks.

Thanks

There's probably no where else you could have got a spot on diagnostic like that, this is such a great forum!

Replaced my shift and cable and had a leak issue. Found this old thread. Saved the day,. Thanks guys.
