Can someone explain to a simple minded joe like me the proper way to route the shift cable. when I follow the directions in my manual the cable rests on the exhaust seperater and comes back on its self. I really need a diagram or picture.

thanks

the little plastic coily thing in the cable kit is for the spot the cable hits the exhaust y. coil in onto the cable and push/pull it to that location.

generaly it comes up between the transom and steering hardware and crosses over the engine to the shifter plate.
