So since the support tube is integrated into the new cables, are you guys full assembling the aft side of the lower cable before inserting it through the bellows and through the transom? it just seems like it will be hard to get the core wire through with the end being rigid. Thanks

you install the new cable casing, install the new cable core and the slide, install the guide tube, install the black plastic tube, install and adjust the cable

Hey Doc where does the plastic tube go,I thought I only use the black snap in bushing for a gen 1.6683545.But are you saying to slide the core wire in after pushing the new cable casing through the transom?Edit I guess you are talking about the black plastic tube that hooks up to the shift plate.

The way I change them just incase I cant fit my fingers in there to guide it is to use a old control cable core. You remove the old core, slide in the control cable core until it exists the shift boot.. cafefully replace the shift boot and pass the core thru the boot.
Have enough core to go thru the new cable casing and vise grip the end where it comes out the small plastic tube.
Now someone inside the boat can pull the core and the new casing into the boat following the exact same path as the old cable.Once inside ,remove the vise grip and the core, procede to install the rest of the cable normally.

I had an extra set of hands so I sleeved everthing onto the sheath and set a piece of plywood on the trim rams (which were tied up to hold level) for a place to set the bellhousing while I pushed in the bushing and seated the boot. Then went about the rest of the transom reseal. It worked out well.
