Shift control cable

Friday I took my 93 procraft sp180 out for the first time of the year. Pulled away from the dock with the trolling motor shifted into forward and nothing reverse was fine but no forward. Back at home I could shift into forward manually so I pulled the cable. Now I am confused as to what cable to get. The cable is a teleflex almost 13 feet long. I have 82 blackmax 200 on a 12 in jackplate. Could there be something wrong with the lower unit too?

Don't mean to double post but just got some advice. Had a repair shop look ayt my cable and said it seemed okay. He seemed to think my shift control is wore out. It will not click into forward but will click in neutral and revearse. Can this concealed unit be repaired?
