if ya really want to adj. it ya need a service manual so ya know how... to me. it's not straight fwd. so reading the procedure was necessary.... in my case....

There`s no real service adjustment. the arm should be straight and the roller centered in the notch.
If it`s activating and stalling the motor when you shift into or out of gear it means the shift cable is bad or it`s way way out of adjustment.
well my boat wont shift with a load on it, on land it shifts fine just with more trouble going into forward but i launch it and it sticks in revers when i back it off the trailer
