Re: Shift Handle

There will be an allen setscrew holding it to the pivot shaft. The lever has to be in a specific location to align the slot on the handle with a slot in the faceplate. Put the handle in throttle-only mode and feel for it with an allen wrench as you move the lever, or you might get lucky and be able to see if if the upholstery isn't too puffy.

Re: Shift Handle

If it is the "classic" 3000 control actually I think the allen screw is for adjusting tension. If it is what I think it is, you need to get the neutral button out. Feels like you're breaking it, but it will pop out with a screwdriver underneath. Like Willy said, I believe it needs to be in the neutral position (button in) and the handle moved forward halfway. Then there is a big nut/screw, I think 5/8" or more below the plastic neutral button. You can get to it with a regular length socket and extension. That has to come off, then the handle will pull out along the shaft.
