Hi there. Just towed my 74 Mercruiser 140 - 100 miles from the mechanics to the lake.
Had new bellows, shift cable and gimble bearing installed.
The adjustment on the shift interrupt is no good.
In and out of forward is fine. It stalls the engine momentarily just as I take it out of forward.
Reverse is no good. As I put it into reverse it activates the interrupt switch and keeps it activated, stopping the engine. So I have no reverse.
I left my manual at home and was hoping someone could give me some simple instructions for the adjustment. I'd play with it but don't want to mess up the forward shifting.
If it's not simple, I'll just wait until next weekend when I bring out my manual.
Thanks
Oops, forgot to mention that I'm on dialup out here, so searching and downloading manuals is not practical.
