Hi

On my 1997 MCM V6 4,3 LX GEN + when I shift into forward or reverse gear, the engine fails, because the Shift Interrupt Switch doesn?t return to his neutral and normal position. The Switch maintains pressed. I lubricate the zone, but the problem maintains.

What could be the problem?

If I remove the Shift Interrupt Switch only during one week, until the end of the season, I will damage the engine?

Thank you, Almeida

Nope,...... You won't hurt the Engine,......
But,......
There's a good chance you could Destroy the Drive.......

What could be the problem?

Your Lower Shift Cable is Junk,........ Replace it with a Lower Shift Cable Kit..........

Annoying little suckers when they act up!, but it's gotta be there. Maybe your lower shift cable needs replacing? (binding?) sometimes this is the issue.
