Hi all, first time poster. I've been having a few problems regarding the above switch, it's been sticking in the closed position & thus cutting out 3 of the cylinders, which can be a real pain if I happen to be in a tricky spot. I've disconnected it at the top by the rectifier & so I have all clyinders working again.
I have a couple of questions,
1) can I safely leave this switch disconnected? It starts fine & goes into warm up mode then cuts back to 6 - 700 rpm, still a bit of a clunk going into gear though
2) what / how is the switch activated? I've looked & can see what should happen to make the switch operate, but I can't ever see it working (someone else operating the gear lever for me while I watch the switch & observe the circut meter) & the meter I put on to show it working does not move unless I operate the switch myself. I don't mind buying a new switch assembly but can't see the point if it's not even doing anything or being activated in the first place.
Also, I've looked at parts schematics & it shows this switch & holder 'upside down' compared to how mine is positioned. Mine has the wires at the top & the actual switch 'button' at the bottom, the schematics show it the other way around.
Thanks guys, I look forward to your responses.
