shift lever

Hi fellows, I have a 1969 Johnson 6hp, and my shift lever has a lot of play in it. Does any one have an idea hoe I can cure it. My manuel doesn't mention it.

That's usually caused by the linkage on the other end of it not being perfectly tight. You'll need to remove the powerhead to tighten it.
