I am having issues with my johnson 25 hp (1992 model) staying in foward gear. It has the front shifter handle. I locks fine into reverse but neutral is somewhat fuzzy and foward does not lock into foward firmly. It will slip out of gear fairly easily but will lock in if shifted at a slightly above idol rpm.
Could this be a lower unit linkage problem instead of a simple linkage adjustment?
