shift proplem

Changed Impeller Now I am Having shift promblems want go into reverse real tight to move at all. Any idea what is wrong?

did you remove the drive? if so, when you put it back on, everything needs to be in the forward gear position so the shift linkage lines up. its kind of tricky until you've done it a few times...hang in there and Trent will send you a nifty web site to go to. I can't remember what it is.........

ISLAND MAN, <br />I have the same motor and was wondering how hard it was to change the impeller out. I cant see it being that hard but is there anything I need to be careful of? Dealer want $250+ to replace it and the kit is only $29. <br /><br />Thanks for any info.

changing the impeller is not that hard .I bought a mechanics manual.thats all you guys have to do you would save alot of money by doing it yourself The manual I have is from chilton www.chiltonsonline.com it is a mercruiser 64-92 book number[oo5-5] 3200 on the cover is a big seloc word good luck
