shift proplems on 59/35 evr big twin

does someone know where i can find interal view of this lower unit i think there maybe something missing it was jumping out of gear /dogs were wore bad welded m up milled down /stronger spring on shift lever / but looks like there should be something between outer thrust seal and prop hub

There are good diagrams in the Clymer 1956-72 J/E Repair Manual shown in a link at the bottom of this page.<br /><br />However, any old Johnson/Evinrude dealer should have the parts manual, which they may copy a page for you. The manual shift models were basically the same from the late 50's to the mid-70's.
