How does one remove the old bushing, I'm assuming the shift rod needs to come out? I've found conflicting info online and no videos on Youtube.

Ah, Gen II... Just lift the shaft straight up and out of the gear housing... Pull the clip off the shaft and pull the bushing off the shaft. Reverse procedure puts it all back.

I'm pulling on it damn hard and I can get it to come up about 1/2 an inch and that is it. I know the C clip is not getting caught, I just pull up on her??

Well mine is being a royal pain. It only moves upward about 1/2 an inch. it should be facing straight toward the back correct, as I pull it out?

You took the two bolts off the seal housing and lift it and the shift shaft up? And yeah, keep the shifter pointing straight forward.
