have a 1976 mercruiser 120hp runabout. I have recently done allot of work to the out drive, water impeller, bellows, upper shift cable, gimbal bearing list goes on. Well recently I dropped the out drive for some work and also did the water pump. I put the lower unit on and then the whole drive assembly and not I can’t get my shifter to get out of neutral and into either forward or reverse it’s stuck in neutral position. So that’s when I found my upper cable was jacked up so I replaced it and still in the same predicament. So I was told my shift shaft could have gotten misaligned. If this is true how can I go about fixing the issue. Trying to get on the water this weekend. Any help would be much appreciated

Why do you keep starting this thread? One has been deleted as a duplicate and then this one! And you can't figure out it belongs in the Mercruiser section, which is where your first post was moved.
