shift shaft seal n reverse lock cam

ok I am replacing the shift shaft seal what is the best way to know the reverse lock cam is on the right way ..manual isn't very spacific on this part..I see it says top but how is it supposed to b positioned and work? ???it is a 1965 65 hp mercury type one ...

I found it sorry guys answer is the high part is to face forward while in nuetral .....
