I reinstalled my lower unit to the upper part of the lower unit and ran it on the ears. My question is I notice water coming out of the upper half of the shift shaft where there is a hole. Is water suppose to be drainging out of this hole on the upper shift shaft while on the muffs?

I have a 1969 120 mercruiser. is your answer the same for this one?

i have alot of water coming out shift shaft? i see in the manual that there is an o-ring and a seal there.
if not i wonder if i didn't quite get the water tube seated correctly,
also in the impeller area is there water present there? (have water entering gear lube while running on muffs thinkin that may be the cause.)
