Re: shift shaft

If you did not let the shaft come up where it came out of the shift cam in the unit you should be able to drop the unit and put it and the shift lever in revese and reinstall the unit.

Re: shift shaft

If your lucky you can remove the shift shaft and bushing, drain the unit and with a flashlight and screwdriver get the cam lined up where the shaft will go back in to the splines reinstall the bushing and then reinstall the unit. If you have my luck just drop the unit remove the carrier and prop shaft when realign the shift shaft and put it back together. Nice HUH

Re: shift shaft

success!!!!
ed i got to thank you man, it took an hour or so but your thread worked. could have done it quicker had i used carb cleaner right off the bat. there sure is a lot of room down there for that cam to slide around. couldn't see it. well anyway, thanks again. you saved me from having to pull the whole bottom shaft out.
