I have a 1970 johnson 115hp with electric shift. I need to know the contacts that come together for the shift switch so I can check if this one is working in foreward and reverse. Thanks

Re: shift switch johnson

That helps out alot but this diode thing. It looks like it conects from Acc on the key to the common terminal and this purple and green wire going to the motor. But on my schematic I dont have any wires listed as these colors. I know the diode keeps the motor in neutral for shutdown but do you know where this purple and green goes to and why?
