All,
Since your help with the tilt issue - I've got another one I'm ready to tackle.

The shifter/throttle control (quicksilver) seems loose to the point of falling off. It functions fine but I don't think this will last long. It has the trim up/down, trailer button, and nuetral button. Problem is it doesn't seem well attached to the backing and has a 1/2 inch of "play" between where it should be firmly against the boat and where it will drift out to.

There appears to be a hex head on the bottom of the shifter, a few phillips head screws on the front, and (using a mirror) about 6 phillips on the back plate.

Q - how do I conquer the loose handle?

Quicksilver has made a LOT of different controls over the years. Care to give some info as to which model, year, anything about your control. Even a picture would help.
