shifter/throttle

Back again ....I got my lower unit water pump replaced in and out in 2 hours then another 3 hours in and out to get to shift , and new steer gear done. How do I post photos???? It would help with this problem....The shifter is a quicksilver T-type handle with trailer tilt and bow up and down button. front of the T handle has a plastic sqeeze lever I think u r 2 squeeze to shift 2 forward of reverse right now it does nothing. There is a brass rod in the handle that seems 2 end and do nothing at the bottom but I can't see what it goes 2 at the top of the handle....It does go into forward and reverse ok.......Any ideas........If I could post photos that might help..Says my photos to large to download..Trying to make smaller

Did you get the shift link at the drive hooked uo right.The shift cable has to connect with the shift rod(on the drive).It sometimes tilts and wont stay in place.Jerry
