Back again ....The shifter is a quicksilver T-type handle with trailer tilt and bow up and down button. front of the T handle has a plastic sqeeze lever I think u r 2 squeeze to shift 2 forward of reverse right now it does nothing. There is a brass rod in the handle that seems 2 end and do nothing at the bottom but I can't see what it goes 2 at the top of the handle....It does go into forward and reverse ok.......Any ideas.......
Thanks,

Nels

Re: shifter/throttle

the rod slips into a pin at the lower end . the pin is engaged to a hole in the handle. the pin goes into a spanner ring behind the shifter handle . this is to lock the shifter into neutral. it is not supposed to shift unless the squeeze handle is depressed. this design is to make it lock as it goes from forward to neutral to reverse. if it does not lock into neutral it can be bad news if you go from forward to reverse with out stopping. do a search on quicksilver controls and you can find a picture of how it assembles correctly. not a big deal . mostly need an allen wrench set to fix.
