I wanna thank everyone for their help, IdleSeedOnly, Bruce, Projo, Astuckey, Reinell-BRXL and I know I'm forgetting others, please chime in because your all the reasons why my boat is fixed.

Drive is back on, and on the muffs, this thing shifts like like not an OMC.. I mean very smooth, in gear, and out.. forward and reverse. I can press the ESA switch with my finger and it wont stumble the motor, so I don't know if its working or not, but there is a fix on another thread using a relay I may do before I check it out on the water.

To anyone and everyone that is having shift problems and you either take your drive off to replace your shift cable.. or take it to a shop.. CHECK YOUR SHIFTER ROD. Mine was sticking so bad its what broke my cable. I took mine to a shop 3 years ago because of it shifting hard, and they replaced the lower cable. When I finally got it on the water it was still hard to shift in and out.

This time I wanted to make sure it was done right. With the help of this site and the above people, (plus ones I forgot) my OMC is now shifting like it was new. (well.. it sort of is with all the parts I tossed at it so far). So for me, just replacing the lower cable wouldn't not have fixed my shifting hard problem. I needed to clean off my shifter rod, and replace the seals. Its shifting like I can't believe how smooth.

Thanks again to all who posted to my questions.

If when u press the ESA switch it doesn't stumble the engine then it is NOT working. And when you put the boat into the water you will NOT be able to get it out of gear. On the trailer yes. But in the water no.

You have to fix that.

I was just rereading the other threads, and that switch should work by depressing it with your finger makes sense. It doesn't, so mine isn't working. So, that needs to be replaced. I will recheck the ground, but it looked clean. (going to the coil). When I look up the part number on the switch with the arm, I can't find it. I know it's a Cherry switch.

I found this but it's out of stock http://www.iboats.com/OMC-Switch-Co...9843825--session_id.140686446--view_id.711479 . So I suppose you have to replace the whole thing. Hummmmm
