Re: shifting problem

usually that is the result of someone installing the gearcase back on the midsection, with the shift rod in the wrong position. Did you have it apart?

Re: shifting problem

OK, Remove wrap cowling and Observe shift slide. Move MerControl from neutral to forward. Shift slide should move to front of motor. If it does, and motor shifts into reverse, trouble is in motor. If shift slide moves backward, trouble is in control box.

Re: shifting problem

Typically thats a problem that occurs when the LU is dropped for whatever reason and the shift cam is turned 180 out and re-installed. You may have to remove your LU and return it to the correct position.
