Hi Everyone,
I have an 1981 Evinrude 15, model E15ECIS. I am looking for a shop manual. I have seen quite a few 1981 manuals but none for my model number. I am wondering if I found one for say a 1980 E15CS would it be just the same or close enough? Does anyone have a source for these?

Thanks!

Leroy's site may help ... lots of info for you

it all depends on what you need to do to the engine
crack it open or just basic upkeep maintenance

From about 78 to 92 they are essentially the same !!-----Same crankshaft from 74 to 2007 I believe.-------A 74 lower unit fits on a 2007 model, not the same internally but will bolt on.-----Same water pump kit from 74 to 2007 models.

Thank you for the info, Crosbyman and racerone. I guess I'll be ok with the 1980 manual then. The information I was basically looking for was if there were any major design changes from 1980 to '81. I was an outboard mechanic in the 70's for Chrysler and Tohatsu so I'm pretty confident but I haven't worked on an outboard for a while...
