Hello
Is shore power for a 24 foot Searay 220 or 110.
can you adapt the plug to fit a reg 110 outlet.
my dock space only has a 110 outlet and now I am wondering if shore power is not adaptable there. I have not picked up the boat yet and di not want to call the owner with another question thats why I wanted to ask all of you.

Thanks
COOL IT

Re: Shore power

Should be 30 amp, 110. Thats what mine is. Double check your connection on the boat to make its 30amp before you buy an adapter.you can download the owners manual, spec sheet, and parts list from the searay web site.I'm pretty sure 50amp plugs will not conect to a 30 amp plug.

Jim

Re: Shore power

The adapter will look exactly like your shore power cord on the boat end and just like a regulal heavy duty 3 prong household on the other end so it can connect to a regular extension cord. You can also change the outlets in the boat to a regular household gfi that you can get at Home Depot for 10 bucks.

Re: Shore power

The boat should be 30A 110 volt (check your main shore power circuit breaker to be sure). If the marina is using a standard household style 110 VAC three prong outlet (I'm surprized if they are) then adapt the shore power cable at the marina's plug and make the adaptor connection at least water resistant and secured. I suggest calling the marina and asking them if they are supplying 20 amps or 30. If it's 30, they should not be using a standard household three prong plug and really shouldn't be using anything but a twist lock plug even if 20 amps. A twist lock 20 and 30 amp plug look very similar but there is a slight offset.
