The electrical wires to the motor, Power Trim and control box are extremely long, 10 + ft, and are in the way. I want to shorten them. What is the down side of doing this. Will use but splices to put things back together.

Thanks in advance
Larry :D if I can pull this off

Your best bet would be to get the proper length wiring harness and avoid splicing. Splicing always creates additional resistance to the system, and a possible place for failure.

Sometimes your dealer will just exchange a shorter harness (possibly a used one) for your longer one.

If you do splice, be sure to do it according to the ABYC wiring guidlines, using only marine grade materials.

Thanks for the sound advice. You would think an EEE could have thought of that.

Thanks

Larry Fish
