Shortern Sacrificial Anode

I have two zinc anodes on my Suzuki DF15 outboard, one is like a disc under the caviation plate, the other is about an inch long, shaped like a fat worm on top of it, It causes me a little problem fitting the Sport SE 200 hydrofoil. Can i cut out about 1/4 without causing any troubles?

It won't hurt a thing to shorten it.
