On the 35 HP Chrysler 1971 or 73 model, Mod. # 3555, Ser. # 2365.

1. Should the water pump?s discharge be solid or a mixed out-put (in such a large dia)? Hopefully, you can observe the out-put approximately just above idle in the attachments.

2. Should the impeller be checked periodically if the out-put looks OK?

3. The cover is off a 55 HP vs this 35 HP. What year is the 35 HP model?

Thanks,
Joe

Your motor was made in 1968 or 1969, reference this link/chart.

8th line of the 35's listed.

I have a Chrylser 55 hp made in 1969. My coolant stream looks just like yours does until I get around 2/3 throttle, then its more solid/tubular. I replaced the impellar about a month ago so I'm thinking that this is normal for these older ones.
