Should I be concerned with beaching rash/mild dent on used lund?

I am looking at a private party sale 2004 1700 Lund Pro Sport boat. The boat has some rash on the bottom from being beached and there appears to be a small indentation in the aluminum near this area - visible in attached photos. Everything else on the boat looks well maintained. This would be my first boat that I own so I am wondering whether I should be concerned about this and bypass purchasing this particular boat or if this is an issue that I shouldn't be concerned with. Would you deduct from price of boat for this type of damage?

Here are some photos of the bottom of the boat:

I wouldn't let that bother me a bit. Some rash on the keel is just indicative of normal use and wear. The dent looks to be just cosmetic. I don't think it depreciates from the value of the boat but value is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm with Terry. Nothing in those pix looks bad to me at all. I keep my boats in a lake with sandy bottom and some gravelly beaches. That is what my older Sea Nymph looks like, and what my recently acquired Lund will look like as soon as I get back to the lake.

Thanks for the feedback. This would be my first boat so I am still in learning mode. It's nice to have a forum to tap for experienced input.

NO,don't worry
it doesn't look to bad.i have a new 1700 prosport and we beach it every time i go out.It is hard to bond paint to aluminum and the keel looks like that in no time.

It's just paint, the aluminum is strong and durable.I hit a piece of driftwood my third time out while cruising and even that was just a scratch in the paint,no dent.
Good luck, what ever your decision i hope you get something you like.

You should see the hull off my lund, LOTS of dents and gouges and Its still doesn't leak water after 19 years of abuse (by my grandfather)

My comment is a little off-topic but I was glad to find an old sister-ship to my new Alaskan in a local marina. It gave me a clue that "normal use" may scratch and dent the hull but it seems to stay in sound shape. This old boat still collected minimal water in the bilge and appeared ready to go on the next trip.

PS I'm still apprehensive about damaging the motor gearcase and prop on the beach (San Juan Islands in Washington) so I use a push pole near shore. richmarsports.com
