From what I have seen of the boat it looks to be in just grate shape. Its coming from a boat store, and they are selling it for a woman. This woman was the first owner and has had some money problems and obviously didint use the boat very much if it only has 40 houres on it.
The boat is a Bayliner 185 with a Mercruser 3.0 The salesman was willing to sell it for just under 10,000, abd that means payments of 130-140$ a month for 10 yrs wich I can make happen. Im still new to the boating world and just need help deciting what to do, any advice is gratefull thanks.

What would this boat sell for new? Also that's the minimum power plant for that boat. It's fine for a 17' but for and 18' you might not be happy with it. It's a buyers market out there right now and there are a lot of owners like this lady trying to get rid of their boats. Your best deals are going to be on eBay/craigslist/newspaper, not at a boat dealer.

It seems like a reasonable price for that boat - not great, not a huge rip off. However, you never even mention what you are buying a boat for so how can we know if it's a good boat for YOU? There are limitations to that boat and power combo that make it fine for some uses and not well suited for others. It's fairly cheap because of the 3.0L engine when many would want the 4.3L.

Also, as was said, if it's a 10 year financing needed to make it affordable, why not step down a few $$$ and get one a bit older for a lot less?

Thats maybe a little high for an 05 model. We sell Maxum brand new for $14900 with the same motor. A lot to be said for new motor and boat warranty for a first time boat buyer.
