If you got the Money go with the sea ray. If you want something like the sea ray but cheaper look at the Bayliner 185br. Good luck whatever you decide. I was in the same position as you last year.

you wont get much tahoe love in here.. a lot of people dont like them.. but at least there are a couple who actually own them that do..

rays are a very good boat with a high resale value.......dont know about the tahoe.....they dont have a good dealer network up here, so we dont see many of them

I am partial to SeaRay, I have my second one, I would definitely recommend the SeaRay. SeaRay and Bayliner are both Brunswick boats so the quality of both is good. The fit and trim of the SeaRay is better than the others, not to say the others are bad, they are not. Look at them all, look at what you can pay, sea trial all of them and see how they all perform on the water, smooth and rough, look at the room for family, guests and gear, then make your decision.

and I have just noticed that you are from perth WA... you may not even get some of the manufacturers the pundits here will advise...

not to mention you probably dont even know what a Bass Pro shop is!

Cheers for your input everyone, and yes the_smoo, you're correct, there is one marine broker that sells them here, and yeah, no idea what a bass pro shop is.

In my opinion, the tahoe looks better and has a few little extra comforts and is a decent price compared to the sea ray, but sea ray are very popular here so i guess after sales help, maintenance, warranty issues would be easily dealt with, just need to fork out more money....

Why dont you consider importing a boat from the US to Perth, I am in the process just now and the boat I paid $17K USD for is selling for around $40K AUD down here, Just another option for you to consider, I looked all over SE Qld at Sea Ray's, Four Winns , Tahoes and everything else that floats basically, In my opinion the Tahoe is a cheaper boat but it goes to show in the fit and finish its all down to your personal choice.
