There is an issue with the shift shafts on the older Yamahas where they corrode and break and can be a nightmare to replace. They switched to stainless at some point but my 1990 is still ferrous and I keep my fingers crossed and smear the exposed failure point with Denso paste a couple of times per year. Do a Google on "yamaha shift shaft corrosion" without the quotes and you will get an earful.

Otherwise not a bad price if you are going to use it but I don't know how much you could sell it for and how long it will take. I can't see the typical boater repowering with a 25 year old motor. Maybe a commercial/industrial or another mechanic.
